How is the correct universal flange adaptor OD band selected?
Measure the actual outside diameter of the prepared pipe and choose a published band that contains that value. Nominal diameter alone is insufficient, especially when old and new pipe materials share a DN but use different outside diameters.
Can one universal flange adaptor connect ductile iron, steel, PVC and PE pipe?
A confirmed OD band may cover more than one compatible pipe material, but the gasket, surface condition, wall support and restraint requirements must still suit the actual pipe. Plastic pipe details require particular review before approval.
Does a universal flange adaptor restrain pipeline thrust?
The standard non-restrained connection provides a seal but does not replace anchors or another engineered restraint system. If axial grip is required, state the design load and ask for a restrained solution compatible with the pipe.
